Structures

The Structures feature class is a point feature class that specifies the location of hydrologic structures. These should be added after the stream network has been built since the structures need to be associated with a specific stream reach. The Add Structures tool on the WAM Toolbar is used to add features to the feature class, which are then parameterized using the Feature Properties Editor.

Rainfall Station Data Quality Assumptions

  • The location of each point feature is accurate and is associated with a reach in the stream network.

  • The StructureID attribute of each feature polygon corresponds to a structure in the Structure_Type table in the Scenario_WAM database.

  • A complete join can be created between the Structure ID and the rainfall time series tabular records.

The required field used by the WAM Structures feature class is:

Attribute Alias Data Type Scenario_WAM Join Table
StructureID Water Control Structure ID Long Integer Structure_Type.StructureID
StructureName Water Control Structure Name String (75) N/A
StructureType StructureType Long Integer N/A
ReachID Calcreach ID Long Integer N/A

Note that the Structures feature class is not joined to the Reach_Type table in the Scenario_WAM database, but the ReachID field must hold a valid entry in the Reach_Type table (ReachID -> Reach_Type.ID). Also, note that StructureType field holds an entry to the Structure_Type.StructureCodeID which in turn must point to a valid intry in the Structure_Code_List table in the StructureCodeID field.
